Product Options no longer showing in Order details

Hello,

The site was recently upgraded to 1.3.9h. Now we are noticing that the order option (radio button with two values) is no longer functioning.

When you put through an order you are presented with the option. However, the email that is sent out does not contain anything about the order option. Nor does it show up in the order details admin screen. It just seems to dissapear.

If I dig into the history I can see that it was functioning before.

Any thoughts on how I would even begin to troubleshoot this?
