SaleMaker and linked categories

Can anyone confirm if SaleMaker should work across linked categories.

For example, I've got a product that has a master category ID of 1, but is also linked in categories 2 and 3.

If I set up a sale using SaleMaker for all products within category 2 nothing happens.

All of the products within category 2 are linked and there are no products that have a master category id of 2 within my store.

So, my question, do SaleMaker sales only work if the master category id of a product matches (and linked product are ignored)?

SaleMaker works with the Product's master_categories_id ...

If the Product has the Master Category ID for Category 1 and is Linked to Category 2 and 3 and you would Category 2 on Sale, then Sale Maker will not work for that Product ...

If you change the master_categories_id of the Product to be categories_id 2 then it will work ...
