Custom Attribute Roll-over module

I'm getting ready to build a module.

This is what it's going to do:
When you click on a swatch, for example: a black swatch, a preview comes up of a black t-shirt.

Example:
You have image attributes added to your product, You want to sell t-shirts in different colors, and You dont want to have T-Shirt thumbnails but you want swatches...

Picture This:
A black swatch. When you hover over a picture of a black t-shirt comes up.

Any ideas on how to build this module?
I know the basics of coding, I used to code Joomla! modules.

I think you can actually accomplish this with existing code. Setup your Option Names as RADIO buttons, and play around with these settings til you like the layout:

Image Styles:
0= Images Below Option Names
1= Element, Image and Option Value
2= Element, Image and Option Name Below
3= Option Name Below Element and Image
4= Element Below Image and Option Name
5= Element Above Image and Option Name

When you add each attribute to the product, upload your color swatches there.

One of these modules will then allow you to add popups to those attributes (I haven't used it, so give them a try and see what you like best):

I would love to only show the image for the attribute selected from the drop down list and not have the swatch at all. Any idea for that?

Also, where do you set the padding for the images on the attributes? I'd like to squeeze them together more.
