Default Help, problem setting up emails on GoDaddy

    Hi all,
    I'm new with Zen Cart.
I have the latest version of Zen Cart v1.3.9h, I've been trying every possible method to set up the email in Zen Cart for my webstore hosted on Godaddy, I used info I got from the wiki link, but when I try to send an email to the test customer I get error messages like "Email Error: SMTP Error: Data not accepted".
Everything is set up with the correct values as advised in the wiki

    can someone help me?

I got a call from Godaddy and they said everything is ok with my email, and the settings for the email in Zen Cart are fine too, so they told me that if emails are not working there must be something wrong with Zen Cart. The thing is that they did the install on my hosted sub domain. I might have to re install Zen Cart. Or does anybody have a clue?
    Thanks

    Simple solution: Don't use GoDaddy.

Seriously - search the forum for your host - you'll find 100s of posts with problem that the only real cure for is moving to hosting that is set up for serious web sites.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Try setting your Outgoing mail (SMTP) to 3535

Godaddy made some changes awhile ago that effected my Outlook.

    Port issues are common.

Thanks for the help, I have actually un-installed Zen Cart from my hosting account and will re-install it manually, in case the previous installation by Godaddy had some corrupted files.
Once this is done I will try again to set up the email normally. I will post again here if it doesn't work.
    Thanks again

    Hi,

I hope I can help. ZenCart did not work for me when GoDaddy installed it. I think they use some auto method so questions needing to be addressed for your particular installation of ZenCart are not answered. So I uninstalled ZenCart just like you did. I then installed it myself by FTP and it was fine. I use FileZilla. Now for email. Use Email Transport: PHP. Emails from known domain: yes. You need SMTP email account and password. Then the SMTP Email Mail Host will be something like pop.secureserver.net, port 25. Check to see what your settings for email actually are and fill those in ZenCart.
