I have a store still running on 1.3.8 (patched) and converted to UTF8. I have many descriptions that use the HTML equivalents for copywrite, register, and tm.
When I upload these via EP, the codes are correct ( i.e. ® ), however when I edit the description from within the admin, this gets changed the character.
1.3.9 is not doing this, so I'm hoping someone can point me to the correct code to fix to maintain my HTML and not convert on save to the character.

You seem to have answered your own question. Your overdue upgrade to 1.3.9 will fix this.

Yes, of course. An upgrade IS in the works. However, a fix for the interim is what I need.
