Order Files Generated for new orders?

I would like to know if Zen Cart generates any kind of readable file when an order is placed with the order information on it. I am trying to get that information without having to go into the code on Zen Cart. Basically, I need to be able to read it to generate a new file for drop shipping.

Other than the order confirmation emails, all order information is stored in the database.

Thanks for the information. That's what I figured.

One more question. Do you know of any way to make changes to the code that the code won't be overwritten when a new version of Zen Cart is released?

It depends on the piece of code that you want to amend. Some areas are covered by override systems, others can be extended or altered by use of observer classes. Some leave you no choice but to overwrite the original code.
