Default help with fresh install using a backup

Ive had to terminate a hosting account and start with a fresh one. Ive followed the tuition and im unable to get it to work. Im using 1.3.9h.....

Ive uploaded a fresh install of zc, created a new database. uploaded the tables into phpmyadmin, the only backup i have of the finished sites files is in an sql file, where do i restore this too? Ive tried for a few days now doing different things, i was thinking it would be easier if i was able to open all the folders/files and ftp , but i cant seem to open the backup in this way.... Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Ben

I've never heard of site files been backed up to SQL, SQL will be your database which you have already transferred, your site files will be as a zip or gzip if backed up from the server, if you have used your host to backup the files then check the root of your server for the backup file
