Is there away to add the meta tags field to the new products page as one of the fields to complete?

I wish that someone would address this question - it was asked in a different thread and someone replied and said to wait for an upgrade - that was a long time ago, and this hasn't been addressed even in version 1.51 - It would reduce an entire step to adding a product, and make life a little easier in general. Someone? Anyone? lol Please help!
