Item by Item shipping

Most of the items on my site I will flat rate ship, but, one item i may ship for 25.00 and another i may ship for 5...

How can i apply flat shipping to each item in particular?

By Class or category would be fine too...

category a, shippign is 25.00
category b is 10.00 etc...

I am needing the same thing. I've looked through the postings, but nothing looks like it will meet this need. I would like to be able to set the Shipping price, by the product item, individually. For example; Bird house 1 shipping cost $5.00, Bird House 2 shiping cost $10.00, Bird house 3 shipping cost 15.00, etc.

I would like it to be independant of all other factors (location, weight, size, etc.).

Any sugestions?

Have you looked at the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module where you can set the Product Weight as the Shipping amount and that is used to calculate the charges by multiplying the Quantity by the Weight?

If you use this, you should set in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... the Tare Rates to 0:0 and the Maximum Weight to 5000 so that this does not interfer with the calculation ...

That is essentially what i did.
I also went into configuration and told it not to display weight...I basically set each product to a given weight and use the shipping table to set certain weights at certain rates.. a little kludgy, but it does what i need...
