Is there a way to change the button image in shopping cart and login page? It looks outdated and kinda ugly.

I'd search for the button in an images folder and just make a new one, upload it there with the same name (unless of course this is against PayPal's terms and conditions). Probably others have different thoughts on this issue?

I thought so too when I saw this: https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/...ssCheckout.gif
I found where to change it
line 64 in tpl_ec_button.php
<img src="<?php echo MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYPALWPP_EC_BUTTON_IMG ?>
how would they even know if we decided to use a different image?

habsolutely,
learn to use the developrs tool kit in your admin. a quick search on the constant MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYPALWPP_EC_BUTTON_IMG and here is the file location.
includes/languages/english/modules/payment/paypalwpp.php
may not be a good idea to change to hard-coded image because then you can't dynamically get new images when paypal does updates.
