    Default PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING

    I just did an upgrade to 1.3.9h. Admin panel is working great. My old database is there and functional, but the storefront is showing a blank page. Each attempt to access the storefront creates a debug error file that reads the following:

    PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in
    .../store_new/includes/languages/english.php on line 19

    Line 19 in that file:
    Code:
    // on RedHat try 'en_US'
    For what it's worth, when I got to the zc_install pages I was given three options: Upgrade cfg files, Upgrade Database, or Install. I did the Upgrade Database first. Went back a second time and did Upgrade cfg files and nothing seemed to happen. I'm not sure what that's supposed to do. I don't believe either one of my configure.php files was changed. They appear to be the same configure.php files I dragged over from the old store and edited for the new db and root directory.

    Any ideas? This is the only error I'm seeing in the Cache directory.

    One more observation I noticed:
    The blank page is appearing with Firefox 7.0, but Internet Explorer 8 displays an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error instead.

    I was thinking about having my host check PHP configuration unless somebody has a better idea.

    Thanks.

    I just got it fixed. Had an error in the footer code several lines up that I fixed but also had Gzip compression enabled from the get go, which was trouble.

    Everything seems to be functioning now.
