    Default fatal error

I am getting the following error when trying to edit a product

    Fatal error
: Out of memory (allocated 34865152) (tried to allocate 39 bytes) in /homepages/25/d00177/htdocs/store/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 457

I am hosting with 1and1 and they said that I have more than enough memory and tried to add a php.ini file with Memory_limit to increase in this folder but didnt help so they said to ask the zen team, can anyone assist me - appreciate your help

My guess is that your host isn't being completely honest with you. Ask to be moved to a different server.

It's a rare host who only offers 32M for PHP configuration nowadays. Esp for dynamic sites.
I recommend setting your PHP memory_limit to 64M or 128M instead of only 32M

You'd need to put it in a php.ini file located in the root of your store, where the main index.php file is located. It won't make any difference being in the mysql folder.

Further, what exactly are you attempting to do when this is triggered? For the query_factory script's movenext() method to be blowing out RAM is odd unless you're triggering queries that have extremely large sets of data being returned.

Thanks Dr Byte, I tried changing it to 64M but still same issue. The issue occurs when I go into catalog>categories/products enter name to search for a product, once the search results show up I click on edit product and poof I get this error... Anything else I can do?

It doesn't make sense that it's complaining about an out-of-memory situation if the SQL queries are from core code (vs addons) and if the PHP config is set to a reasonable value.

And, if the error message is still showing a 32MB value like you first quoted, then that means the server's configuration still isn't changed.
