Shipping cost = weight. Show free delivery

Hi,

I'm sure this has been discussed before on the forum, but I've had no luck searching for it.

I use the weight field 1:1 for the shipping price of items (not got round to weighing everything yet!)

I display the weight on the item pages, and have changed the weight text to "Postage and Packaging: £" so that customers can see how much it is to deliver.

When and item is "Free delivery" the weight is input as 0 and nothing is charged at the checkout, however I'd like the product listing to show that the item qualifies for free delivery!

I either need to edit the settings, so that:
Weight: 0 will show on the product info page

or even better, have Weight 0 items show as:
Weight: "Free delivery"

Any help would be great, I've no skill, no knowledge, no clue, so step by step help would be best!

What shipping modules do you have installed?

If 0 weight is Free Shipping, then you need to install the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper and set in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging that 0 weight means Free Shipping ...

You could customize the product _info file with your templates and overrides on:
tpl_product_info_display.php

and when the variable:
$products_weight

is 0, have it read: Free Shipping rather than the weight ...
