Default Tax exempt on certain products?

I have a new client and so far so good. I've set up the Canadian taxes as per instructions and it calculates all taxes correctly. However, she tells me now that books are PST exempt. (I should have known that LOL)

I thought it would be an easy work around but so far I can't find a way to set up the cart so she has the option to have her products like CD's PST taxable, and books non-taxable.

Can someone give me a step by step way to fix this please.

Click on the product as you would to edit it.
Next to the price field is a Tax Class pulldown. Set it to none.
Save.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

If only it was that simple. Even though books are PST exempt, they are not GST / HST or GST on Shipping exempt.

So, how do I set it up where she can select to either charge the PST or not?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You can assign a tax class which encompasses the tax requirements for the product.
That may mean creating a tax class unique for that requirement if you don't already have one.

YES! That worked.

I have a GST/HST/PST class and a GST/HST Class. So Books go under GST/HST and CD's go under GST/HST/PST.

Thank you again!
