sidebox subcategory links ONLY

Where can i find information or the code that will display ONLY the subcategories of ONE specific parent category in a sidebox?



eg:

parent category is RED (do not display the parent)
-cars(display the subcategory)
-hair(display the subcategory)
-bouncing ball(display the subcategory)

any help with this would be appreciated.
I'd like not to install any types of "addons" if at all possible.

Information about the code is in the readme for Categories Dressing.

Do you want to display all subcats of this one top cat, all the time, and no other categories? Then you will need to install an expanded categories mod (or write your own), for starters. You could modify the categories tree class, if you want to get deep in the code, or tpl_categories.php to work with the presentation.

yes i think. Im wanting to display the subcategories for a specific category all the time and no other categories subcategories.

display subcategories for only one category all the time.

with the Categoris Dressing is there a way to select the category who's subcategory is to be displayed?

That is not directly built in, but you can achieve the effect by giving the desired top category a "category group" definition per the readme. Then give the next category another group definition, and make style rules with display: none; for the unwanted groups and let the desired group show.

I was able to do a little majic(reading the directions) and poof got the specific sub categories to display in the sidebox. ty
