    Default Payment module setting

    Hello,

I'm trying to change the value of a constant that came with a payment module* but that constant isn't editable from the Admin interface. When I search for it using the Developper Tool Kit, it says the "Group" is "ID#6 Module Options or, HIDDEN" and when I click edit, it goes to the front page.

Is there a way to display those hidden options once and for all? It's not the first time that happens to me and I can't find a situation where some options should be hidden for everybody all the time.

    * I don't think it changes anything but the constant I want to change is the status of an order after somebody used a specific mode of payment. Just so you get a little bit of context.

ALL the payment module settings SHOULD be "hidden". The only place one should edit those settings is in the Admin->Modules->Payment screen, using the module's EDIT button.

Properly-written modules will have a setting for "Order Status", usually with a pulldown menu from which to select the desired status to assign to orders when that module is used. That is where you should change that setting.

Sadly, what I meant was that my payment module doesn't seem properly written. When I go to the Payment screen, I see most of the usual options but this one is missing. A quick investigation allowed me to find out that: a) the code for the usual drop down menu was programmed to be entered in the database and b) was entered because the payment module works fine and the DTK finds the constant.

For some reason, when the Payment screen displays the options, this one is skipped over and I thinks it's because there is something somewhere that tells the page not to display that option.

The constant is probably not mentioned in the keys() list in the code.

If you must change it, change it. Just be sure you know EXACTLY what you're doing and why.
