    Default database upgrade

Okay, I admit I dropped the ball. I have been holding off on updating due to my lack of knowledge and fear of having my site go down. So I have now upgraded and yup, my site is messed up.

I have upgraded to Zen Cart 1.3.9h but my Database Patch Level remains at 1.3.8.

I used Fantastico to update before learning that that was the wrong way to go.

I have read mucho posts about the message I am getting (Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.) and am still pretty lost.

Can I do the update again manually even though It was previously done with fantastico? If I follow the instructions will I keep my database?

I am fairly ignorant to this stuff so please go sloooow...Thanks to all of you!

While I try to figure this out and wait for someone to hopefully be able to help me, I was wondering if it is possible to disable the

"Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Tools->Server Information to review patch levels."

message so that my customers cannot see it? Thanks!

Using fantastico to do an upgrade is a bad idea, but it would appear that you still have functionality.

Grab a copy of zc 1,3,9h, and unzip it, then FTP the zc_install folder to your server.

Then, go to your site url and add /zc_install on the end of it.

Go through the first step or two of the install, and when it asks if you want to upgrade the DATABASE ONLY, select the appropriate choice.

    Then, UPGRADE.

You MUST MAKE SURE to do only a dbase upgrade.

BACK UP YOUR EXISTING DBASE... If you make the wrong choice, you will wipe out your data.

But you would be a very unobservant person to make an error... The screen prompts will guide you.
