EZ pages header menu- replace links with images -crista gray

Hi, I know this question has been asked before but beeing a Zen Cart noob I need a... simpler explaination o_o;; I have found some other similar threads and I read all the comments but I just can't figure out how to do this. What I really need is a step-by-step guide in simple terms.

So basically I want the shop menu to look exactly like it does on the main site. Some help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks very much :) I've downloaded it and I'm applying it now.. But I think I missed something. On my admin control panel, it says my EZ pages are enabled, but there are no pages showing in this section. There must be EZ pages somewhere, otherwise where are the links currently in my header coming from??

The links currently appearing aren't EZ-Pages. Those are built-in menu items. EZ-Pages are a different animal, and somehing that you create and/or edit. Try creating a test EZ-Page to play with.

Thanks, I made an EZ page but it's not showing up anywhere that I can see. The links in that header must have been from the pre made template I'm using. Any idea where I could find where to edit those links? Alternatively, could I turn those links into images rather than fiddling with EZ pages?

When you created your test EZ-Page did you select the location in Tools/EZ-Pages by clicking a satus icon to activate it? You can choose footer, header, or sidebox and to make it appear in one of those locations you change the icon to green.

Not sure about changing the standard menu links to images. I'm sure it can be done, but it'll take somebody more skilled than I to explain how.

Check on
Configuration > EZ-Pages Settings > EZ-Pages Display Status - HeaderBar -->set to 1

Tools > EZ-Pages > edit page > Header: select Yes Order: -->enter a number

If these don't produce any results, your template file may have been hacked up to disable the ez-page headerbar.

It would take a bunch of coding similar to Categories Dressing (for the sidebox) to dynamically swap images for cat-tabs links. Far easier to use Ezpages Improved Menus as mentioned above.

Yeah I did all that but it's not appearing. I thought it would be easier to just edit those thinks in the template than try to change a huge chunk of code to allow ez pages. But now I have no idea where those links are.... Thank you for all your help though!!

I have a bad habit of forgetting that last part when telling somebody how to setup EZ-Pages.

Those links in your template are probably dynamically created, but by a custom file that we aren't familiar with. So there are no HTML links that you can edit, and we can't tell you for sure where to edit the PHP code even if you knew how to do it.

Look in your /includes/templates/your_template/common/tpl_header.php for any HTML comments referring to ez-pages, and post whatever is between those. That will tell us more about your situation.
