Display Product Count on Category Pages

There are hundreds of threads of people asking to remove the item/product count next to the categories on the sidebar, but I want to add an item count to the categories and sub-categories on their main pages.

I added it to one of my websites but forgot how to, as it required a minor code change. Does anyone know how to do it?
