red flag Can't Checkout - "Whoops! Session Timeout" error

I have two installations of Zen Cart and I am having the same problem with both of them. Whether I am logged in or not as soon as I go to check out, having selected items for my shopping cart, I end up at the "Whoops!" page. I have, also, noticed that when I log in and select something for my shopping cart, once I make that selection, the header changes back to "log in" as though I am not logged in any longer. At first, I thought I might be loosing my session ID, but that is following every pass. My website is www.SydneyMariaUSA.com and I have a link on my www.ObaObaInternational.com site, as well.

I am hosted at Webhero.com on a Linix/MySQL set up. My main site is running Zen Cart version 1.3.9h and my test bed is running 1.5 BETA. Both instances are using the host's shared SSL. My main site has been updated and linked to USPS and PayPal, but my test site is in the out of the box, virgin state. Is there something I screwed up in my configuration, or is there something my hosting site needs to do to accommodate me?

PHP Version: 5.2.17 (Zend: 2.2.0) PHP Memory Limit: 40M
    Database: MySQL 5.0.87-50-log

    Thank you!!!

    Jon

Thanks for reading my posting. I am getting the same reaction on both my 1.3.9h version that is modified and my 1.5 beta version that is totally unmodified. It seems like it is hopping between secure and in-secure or something...

This is the link that shows when I hover over the checkout button:
    https://ssl.xxxx.com/~xxxxx.com/zenc...mvfc0t1pi2m6q2

The zenid is registering in my database and I have tried using a registered customer and not logged in, as well.

    - Additional Information -

When I log in, I am getting three entries in the zen_whos_online table, but as soon as I move to another page from the one I land on at login, my entry changes to guest from my login ID. It seems to be irrelevant of the checkout or any other process. My session ID is remaining unchanged.

If this happened on a fresh (unmodified) install of version 1.5 Beta. I think it's a bug.

I'm not sure if this helps anyone but I had the same issue as above, but worked out that it only occurred if items were added to cart (as a guest) before the user logged in. If the user logged in first, then added items to cart, it worked fine.

I then remembered I had modified the header file of my login page so that the cart was cleared each time a user logged back in (to avoid them ordering old products as the site is a deal site where they change daily).

Consequently, I reverted that bit of code back to the default and now I'm trying to work out an alternative way of doing it which doesn't cause the conflict.
