Default Trade Site showing prices exc VAT

We are based in the UK and wish to set up a TRADE SITE targeting Retail Customers in UK & Ireland.

How can we show prices EXCLUDING VAT and have it add on 20% VAT for orders from UK customers but EXCLUDE VAT from any customers ordering from outside the UK.

Simple: treat it like a US shop:
    - store in "Tax Included in Pricing = FALSE" mode (which happens to be the default out-of-the-box setting)
    - prices are the tax-excluded price
    - create a Zone for all the countries for whom you DO intend to charge tax
    - add a tax Rate and assign it to that zone
Then whenever a customer uses an address which falls inside that zone, tax will be added. Anyone else will see no tax.

when you are setting up make sure you cover all countries you need to charge vat to as i dont think you just charge people in uk vat i think it is all countires in eu unless the buyer has a vat number, so you would need to add all countries within eu to the tax zone applicable, you will get the info on hmrc website
