Is this a local test install on XAMPP or the like? If so, see the source of your package for information on upgrading. If you installed the components yourself, see the PHP source; this is outside the scope of the Zen Cart support forum, unless someone here happens to have the knowledge and time to coach you.

Zen Cart 1.5 only requires PHP 5.1.13 or higher, so there's no need to upgrade PHP in your local environment to work with this release.

Correction. Official requirements say PHP 5.2.14 as a minimum.
So, still no need to upgrade as far as Zen Cart requirements go. You may have other good reasons for upgrading eventually, but Zen Cart isn't requiring it in order to function.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I won't upgrade the php if it's not required by zen cart. I thought I would just get all the info I can.

Will stay with my current setup then

    Thanks
