I have. Without a hitch means it connects right up to the basic shopping cart, I just can't get into admin to set it up. I've rechecked CHMODS all 777's where the docs say they should be.
The catalog can be viewed at:
http://www.thenightsky.org/catalog/z...ease-12302011/
Following these instructions:
Starting the Installer In your browser, enter the URL to your new shop, and the Installer should automatically start.
Example: http://www.thenightsky.org/catalog
- or -
to start the installer directly, use:
http://www.thenightsky.org/catalog/zc_install
Does nothing.
I'm at a loss. The only way I've had success connecting to admin/install is through the older default setup through hostmonster.
I've also noticed, Not certain if it means much, If I go to the file Manager on Hostmonster, and go into the catalog, zc_install does not display. Yet Crimson Editor shows it us uploaded. Does it too maybe beed to be put to 644 or 777?
The reason I asked is that if you have installed Zencart, the zc_install folder must be deleted, or you'll receive an error message. Why are you trying to access the zc_install folder ?
Don't I need to run it? I've never been prompted yet for MySQL database or password/user info. Isn't that where it comes in to play?
That's why I asked if you had installed Zencart. Uploading the files is only the first step. Then you point your browser to the root URL of your store (no zc_install needed). You should see an install page. You should see a link in this sentence: "If this is the case for you, Click here to begin installation". Do so, and the installation script will start.
http://www.thenightsky.org/zen.htmlThat's the problem, I think... there is nothing. I believe I captured the screen... This is what I get.
I hope I got that right. But the item you mentioned, isn't an option.

If you've installed it to 'http://www.thenightsky.org/catalog/zen-cart-v150-full-release-12302011/', then your admin will be at 'http://www.thenightsky.org/catalog/zen-cart-v150-full-release-12302011/your-renamed-admin', not just thenightsky.org/catalog
Same with zc_install ... it would be at 'http://www.thenightsky.org/catalog/zen-cart-v150-full-release-12302011/zc_install'
That's why you're getting 404-not-found, because it's truly not found because you're pointing it at the wrong place.

I was wondering about that. It's not what I named it, but that install folder gets loaded first. Is it Possible to somehow eliminate that, Once She does get her own dedicated server, It will be a pain to enter in http://www.Whatevershenamesit.com/ca...lease-12302011 I've tried removing it myself... Man.. The things I do, It didn't work without that folder/directory, but It is displayed below the parent directory.
And thank You so much, And everyone for your help with my dorkness on this one. The last time I installed it... I really never had an error. I still have same host, so who knows?
I am going to attempt to rename the 'zen-cart-v150-full-release-1230201' folder to 'catalog' Would that resolve that?
I'm getting into a thicker and thicker fog here
