Default After 150 install/upgade my products are missing in Categories

My products are missing in the Admin Categories Products. And they consequently are not visable in the online catalog.

    1)
Which files can I and which will have to transfer via FTP?

    2)
With 150 now in place, is it proper way to do to simply transfer all language and includes files or?

    3)
I havent found any information in the docs folder telling me which folders and files I should transfer.

    4)
Does this instead mean I will have to manually once again add my products in the Categories?

    Thanks in advance
    Stefan

Categories and products are stored in the database, not in files. Did you import your previous database to the 1.5 installation ?

    Hi,

I only transfered all files and folder locally via FTP to the online server. And the in browser used the ZC Install. to install it. Nothing else.

How do I do what you suggested?

First you need to export the old database to your local PC. How you do that depends on your host's specific setup. If your host provides cPanel you would go in to phpMyAdmin and use the export function, Save the file to a local folder. Then you would do the process in reverse for your new database by importing it from your local PC.

Note: If the database is large, you may run in to issues importing it. If that's the case you would need to use a script that parses it in to small chunks during the import. I use Bigdump.

    Hi,

    Please bare with me.

I understand I used INSTALL and not upgrade of 150.
When suggestion is told me to export Database=139 and then Import the same Database to my Database=150, I understand I am not wholly understanding the procedure.

The thing I am wondering over is this:

    1)
My shop address for Zencart 139 was www.mywebsite.com/shop

    2)
My Shop address for zencart 150 is still www.mywebsite/shop

    3)
Am I still supposed to export to my local harddrive the Database, and then import it again to the very SAME database? I just exported it from?

    4) Am I supposed to create an entire new database, meaning deleting the database?

I checked phpmyadmin and saw all products and so forth. Only it doesnt show in my admin page when I log in to my shop admin.

Just for the record i DO read the tutorials and tips from you all, only I might not always wholly understand the ins and outs that may be obvious, due to my profession is illustration and design and not programming PHP.

    Allways thanks in advance
    Stefan

Just got unsure. I belive I did select INSTALL and not Upgrade.
But I do remember that I was asked to fill in my password and database name so forth.

Does that mean I might have chosen Upgrade just the same?

    Thanks in advance

Your TEST site is a whole new folder and new database. That's IN ADDITION TO what you've already got for your live site.

The idea is to set up an ADDITIONAL completely separate site for doing all your testing, so that your old site can stay "live" and making sales while you prepare your upgrade.

If you don't know how to create an ADDITIONAL (that's what we mean by "new") database, then talk to your hosting company for help.

    Hi Dr Byte,

Okey, I think I understand what you mean.
I did the classic misstake of running zc_install by FTP-it directly to my server/host and from there running it via the browser as supposed to when going live/test, this way installing/upgrading to the LIVE store right away.

    1)
So now what has happen is that I can see basically everything except my products/categories. Online or in the admin.

    2) Now I have my database as per 139 and 150 zc_install via FTP online.

    3)
When going LIVE do I need to re-install the entire Database?

    4)
And I get gibberish fonts/letters to my Swedish language page, which isnt seen in the English selected page.

The Gibberish is seen like this, but dont know how to fix this. I made a question about it here http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...18#post1092718
