Okay let me see if I can clearly explain what I need to do here.
I have to create separate shipping rates for different items.
Example: (For this I will use T-Shirts);
I use the flat rate shipping for the first item, and need to add an additional .50 for each additional item.
customer purchases 3 T-shirts. The flat rate is 5.25, plus (2 x.50) and should render a total shipping rate of 5.75
For the next category containing ONLY single sticker, button, magnet, or greeting / note cards, my base rate needs to be 1.25 as the base, and .30 for each additional item.
Example: customer orders 1 button and 2 bumper stickers. So the base rate should be 1.25, plus (2 x .30) and render a total shipping rate of 1.85.
Now here is where I got completely lost. Should a customer order:
2 - T-shirts
1 - Bumper Sticker
1 - greeting card
The calculated shipping rate needs to come to:
T-Shirts - 5.25 + .50
Bumper Sticker and greeting card - 1.25 + .30
and show a total shipping charge of 5.75 + 1.55 = 7.30
How would I do this as I got completely lost trying to understand the tables rates, classes etc. Your help is desperately needed.
