Pay by check not appearing

I have paypal express installed, it works fine. I've enabled "pay by check, it is installed and enabled. However, it does not show up on the check-out, where I had hoped it would be. I wanted it to be an alternative to the pay pal express button. Any ideas?

Did you fill in the "Pay To" field in the configuration in admin->modules->payment?

Yes, I did fill in the "pay to" field with my customer's name. Wonder if I should have added the address, too?

Just thinking -- I guess I could put that info in the notes where it now says "you may want to put something here about shipping etc etc etc"..
