why doesnt my new template show in admin

hi all,

i have uploaded an new template to my route directory via filezilla but when i login to admin it doesnt show.

i have uploaded the whole includes file into the root directory and followed the video instructions that came with the template and read the read me file, but it still does not show in admin, can anyone help please?

the template you are using have the file "template_info.php"?
location:includes\templates\your template\template_info.php

You need to upload the entire includes folder that came with the template to the root of the store, not just the template folder.

I think he ore she have upload the whole file of templates to the right place,but the template maybe is a free one and there are problems in it;

thanks for your replies, i have manually uploaded the template now and is showing on the site, but i could not upload the english.php file becasue it would have overwitten the existing file, do you have any idea how i could add it without overriding the exisiting one.

If you've uploaded your new template files, then your template has a name; let's say it's new_template. To upload your updated english.php file into the proper overrides area, you would upload the file to /includes/languages/new_template/english.php.

yes i have done this, but there is still a problem with the template that i cant seem to sort out.
