Default How to No Idex or Follow a specific category?

    Hi all

I have a category called zulu where I keep items I do not wish to sell or advertise. (dont worry there is a good reason why they import)
I would like to be able to simply add somewhere it's name to the list of no index no follow. I have seen it somewhere along with ez pages gift vouchers. But cant seem to recall where to add it to.

    Can someone pls tell me

    Cheers
    RR

While there is no guarantee that search engine spiders will obey a noindex, nofollow request, a better option may be to put a DISALLOW statement in your robots.txt file.

Call up that category in your browser, and note the URL in the address pane. Copy the url.

In robots.txt file, insert the line:

    Disallow: http://URL-TO-THAT-CATEGORY

If those other "products" are things you "don't sell", then you should not be putting them in your store as "products", but rather as "documents".
So, instead of creating them as "Product General" when you create the products in your admin, choose "Document-General". (You mentioned importing, so use the proper products_type when importing if that's the method you're using instead.)
Then in your custom version of the meta_tag.php language file set the ROBOTS_PAGES_TO_SKIP to include document_general_info and it'll automatically set the noindex, nofollow for you when those products are displayed.
