Well, your images are fixed on your secure login page in my Firefox browser. But in Chrome and IE9 (my main browser), although the top images show, both browsers give the "secure-show all content warning" and block your bottom left banner photo. That has been our main issue with SSL, getting images properly set so that they do not generate the dreaded warning on secure pages. As I recall, when using banner photos or sometimes even our own hand-made links on SSL pages, we had to either try "relative links" or put an "s" in the http like https for the image source or links.
It's ironic that one uses SSL to give customers a sense of security, but that same SSL can generate pop-up warnings that may scare customers off.
As for your second issue, your login page shows https, so I'd think it secure. But guess I don't really know about that.
Definitely a SSL issue and the way you have to ensure that anything you do does not generate the security pop-up warning. Not a template issue.
