Default upgrading a new installation of version 1.3.9 to 1.5

Hi - am a bit new to this. Just installed a ZC 1.3.9 using Fantastico and would like to upgrade to the newest version before I do anything to it.

I read the help files concerning upgrading but those seem to be for stores already in use which may have customizations.

Is there a tutorial on how to upgrade when one is working with a clean install?

    Thanks!

The simple thing to do would be to just delete all the 1.39 stuff and install 1.50. No need to upgrade if you haven't done anything to the store yet.

If your server doesn't have the 1,5.0 installer on it, then download ZC 1.5.0 from the link here on the forum and do the install manually. It's not hard.

Hi Rob - thanks for the reply. Ok, have downloaded and unzipped the new version. So, I would just connect to the server via FTP and delete all the ZC files in the 1.3.9 installation and replace them with the 1.5 ones?

Sorry, am kind of new to this....

Well, come to think of it, the existing 1.3.9 database is going to cause a problem if you do that and just stop. So...

First... Copy the existing configure.php files to your local hard drive. There's one in the includes folder and another different one in the admin/includes folder.

Then... delete all the 1.3.9 files, and upload the unzipped 1.5.0 files. Be sure to include the zc_install folder.

Finally... following the instructions, run the installer to perform the database upgrade step.

I think that's all you need to do. If you get into any problems, come back here with more info about the problem and we'll get you fixed up.

OK - sounds good. Do I replace the config files you mention with the older ones before or after I run the installer?

Before. Then when you run the installer, select database upgrade (rather than new installation)
