    help question Fantastico oppinions please

Hi all my web host has fantastico as part of my package and I've noticed that zen is listed as one of the installations they offer. So the obvious question is is it reliable.
    Cheers

you are better off getting a fresh copy and installing it manually the directions are in the docs folder inside the zip

Fantastico is a great tool so that one can have a look at several options

But if you are past that are are wanting a working install to present to the public, a manual install from a fresh distribution is the best option

Don't use Fantastico to install, and NEVER use it to upgrade!

Plus, since you already know how to install it manually, it'll be simple.

    @ Dr Byte & Kobra

I always do manual installs. I completely understand the point about not using it for updates. Out of interest is there a difference between a manual install and a fantastico install? Is there a difference in the file set on the server? I mean other than the fantastico files themselves which I know it writes to keep track of what version etc is current. Is there a difference in the actual files? Or is it just that you will definitely get the most up to date version with a manual install?

Well I tried twice to do a manual install and both times got this error
    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
used fantastico installer no problems so lazzy way for me
