    Default v139h USPS Inconsistencies

    using Zencart v1.3.9h, usps file info - @version $Id: usps.php 18348F 2012-01-22

    site link: http://spottedsheepyarnshoppe.com/zencart

only have one kind of product so far, ((http://spottedsheepyarnshoppe.com/ze...cPath=20_5_6_7 - only 1st page having the weight entered.))

Whether logged in as a customer or not and adding 1 item to shopping cart with CA 90210 zip...
    USPS First Class 1x.3 = $3.04
    Priority $7.05

Then - when updating quantity at the shopping cart page, or at item pages to 2 qty.. price goes down?
    USPS First Class 1x.41 = $2.85
    Priority $7.05

So that was weird - but at least they're charged shipping. It gets stranger -

Changing quantity in shopping cart a few times &/or adding new items from the product pages works fine - price goes up accordingly, until suddenly, USPS price goes to $0 & it's not at the $75 mark required for free shipping.

If I delete a few items from shopping cart USPS and Priority prices appear again.
It's very inconsistent and I cannot pinpoint when the $0 consistently happens.

Went back to Shipping module at one of these flukes - total is $66.50 and USPS rate appears as $0 - turned on Debug/Screen and got this:

    View Source:
    Server: production Weight = 0.9575 Pounds: 0 Ounces: 15.32 ZipOrigination: 03045 ZipDestination: 11229 Tare Rates - Small/Medium: 0:.1875 Large: 10:0 RESPONSE FROM USPS:

Update cart to delete 1 item & total is now $57.00... still with error in price,

One more time, updating cart by updating quantity of one of the items from 2 to 1, price is now $47.50 & UspS price is accurate! with debug:

another update, going over the $75 free shipping mark, Priority appears correct as does $0 Free option

delete one item, price is now $47.50 again, usps price ok... debug:

I cannot figure out what is going on. Any suggestions?

When using the debugger ... if you go to the Shipping Estimator the first time when not logged in and have not yet set the address, you will see the error message as there is nothing to processes yet ...

Once your address is set and you update you will see the information settings ...

If you are logged in and go to the Shipping Estimator for the first time, it will have the quotes for the current address ...

    I cannot reproduce this ...

If you do a search in the Developers Tool Kit for:
    ups.php

what comes up for the UPS shipping module on the version?

Do you have any other shipping modules, besides Store Pickup, that are installed but are disabled? If so, click on them and do a REMOVE ...

Have you made any kind of customizations to your shipping modules?

Have you made any changes to the files:
    /includes/classes/shipping.php
    /includes/classes/orders.php
    /includes/classes/shopping_cart.php

Was this a Clean install of Zen Cart v1.3.9 or an Upgrade?

Does anything change if you switch to the Classic Template?

Clean install of Zen Cart v1.3.9h

    usps.php -
    zencart/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/usps.php
    Line #6 : * @version $Id: usps.php 18348F 2012-01-22 01:22:00Z ajeh $
    zencart/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php
    Line #9 : * @version $Id: usps.php 18348F 2012-01-22 01:22:00Z ajeh $

    ups.php info -
    zencart/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/ups.php
    Line #19 : // $Id: ups.php 1969 2005-09-13 06:57:21Z drbyte $
    zencart/includes/modules/shipping/ups.php
    Line #6 : * @version $Id: ups.php 14498 2009-10-01 20:16:16Z ajeh $

    I removed other shipping modules...

Logging in or just typing the state and zip code gets same results.
In my template, still get inconsistent and occasional $0s. So, I switched to Classic and prices are improved except for when there is only 1 item in cart. With only 1 item, the price is higher than when I put 2 items in cart. Now I have to figure out what I did wrong in my template to make things go to $0. How can this be? It seems to trigger when weight goes over 13oz (.81).

I am not home right now to see my notes - usually I comment in the file if I edit, but did not find any changes in:
    zencart/includes/classes/shipping.php
    zencart/includes/classes/shopping_cart.php

I did not find orders.php right away.. found it in here -
    zencart/admin..../includes/languages/english/orders.php
    zencart/admin.../orders.php

found order.php in these places -
    zencart/admin..../includes/classes/order.php
    zencart/includes/classes/order.php

There's also another shopping_cart.php in zencart/includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php & the sideboxes folder...

Thanks for helping out with this. I'm heading to my other computer and will check there to see if you reply or if I have any other notes on the shopping_cart pages.
