    help question There has to be a way - category sidebox replacement for images

    I want to replace the sidebox altogether if possible. My client wants buttons that are pretty and written in cursive.

    I tried altering the php file for one of the banners to display a table of linked images, but apparently I'm no good at that

    I have the HTML, but not the knowledge to incorporate it into a php file. Or am I going about this wrong?

    This is the site:
    www.catherinescurtainoutlet.com

    ...and she wants the buttons to look similar to this:
    www.thesugardiva.com/

    Many thanks!

    I had read into that but couldn't verify that it is compatible with 1.5. I will try it and respond with my result!

    Yes, it is compatible with v1.5.
    One of its core functions is replacing category text with images.

    Ok guys, I have messed with this all day. I need a separate image for each category because they want the font cursive. It is showing my image via the categories_dressing_defines.php file (define ('CAT_BOX_HEADING_70','1|0|catbg70.png||'); and so on), but it's not linking or getting rid of the text link. What am I doing wrong?! I tried following the steps in the readme:

    Code:
    #categories li a.catBg25 {
        background-image: url(../buttons/english/catbg25.gif);
        height: 30px;
        }
    ...but if I use

    Code:
    #categories li a.catBg70 {
    it doesn't automatically work like I thought it would. Direction please?? I've lost so much time on this already

    You need to go to the support thread for extensive discussion of this. You will find other posts relevant to your question there. Your difficulty may be related to using .png images; see the recent support thread posts about this.

    I changed it to a gif for the sake of saying I tried it and... well I could hug you and throw a fit at the same time. My client is going to be VERY happy with this Thank you for your replies!!!!!!

    Glad you got it to work. It is possible to use .png files, but there are edits you need to make to files to handle this for v2.7.3. The v2.8 files use a constant for the extension so it only has to be changed in one define file and not other PHP files.
