    Default HELP USPS 2012 Install not working for me

    I just upgraded to Zen cart v1.5. But I can not get the USPS rates to show up. I was using version 1.38a before that and since the switch at USPS I could not get it working with the new USPS.php. I paid someone to upgrade hoping that would solve the problem. I reinstalled the new USPS after the upgrade and still no go.

    I have read other threads on this but no of those fixes applied to me. I used my old user ID, but did not work so I got a new USER ID, still no luck. It is not working in test mode. Why do they give you a User ID and a Password if you just need the User ID? All my information is below:

    I installed the new USPS 2012 version

    What happens if you switch to Production? USPS test mode is often flaky ...

    If you are using your new USPS Web Tools User ID , did you call USPS and activate it for the Production server?

    What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

    What is the Ship To that you are testing?

    What is the Ship From that you are testing?

    What is the weight of the Order that you are testing?

    If you turn on the Debug Log on the USPS shipping module, what comes up in the:
    /cache

    I have tried the production server. I emailed USPS to request that they move me to the production server and this is the response I got:

    Dear David,

    Thank you for contacting the USPS® Internet Customer Care Center. I apologize for any inconvenience and I will be glad to assist you. I also appreciate your patience in regards to the delayed response. The test logs under your User ID do not show valid test requests. We are unable to move your account to the production server until a valid test request is received. If you are using third party software, testing is not required. However, you must provide us with the name of the software you are using. We can then update your account.

    If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact us again.

    Try to call USPS 1-800-344-7779 (7:00AM to 11:00PM ET) and see if they won't set it to the Production Server when you tell them that you are using Zen Cart ...

    Meanwhile, are there possibly any answers to the questions that I asked?

    Also, what is the exact error that you are getting?

    OK, it is now working. For some reason the test server did not work at all for me. I thought I had to have a successful test in order to move over to the production server, however, not so. As soon as you install call usps to move you to the production server. Thanks for the help walking me through. I would add this to the install notes. Don't use the test server thinking it will work just call the number right away. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
