    Default Configuration menu mostly missing

    HI,
I am installing 1.5 to replace my old carts. I am looking to install clean copies so other than the db, images, and banners in the old cart I plan to install everything else from scratch.
I have followed the instructions to upgrade the old carts DB during the install all seemed well. Started adding the add-ons I had before and I noticed that for some reason the menu under configuration is for the most part gone. The only thing in it is logging.
    All I have added is:
    Template change - zj__zencart_jquery_template_pack_1-0-1 - ZJ Silver - wide
    Back up my sql 1.5
    add_pages_to_more_information_sidebox_2
    FCKeditor

Other than starting from scratch any thing I can change to correct the problem?
    Thank you,
    Mark

Sounds like your database-upgrade step wasn't done properly.
And/or you've added addon files that change the way the menu is handled.

Did the problem exist before you started adding addons?

    Hi Doc,
Hope you had a nice weekend.
Yes, but gone after adding the add ons. I did not check it after each one added just after adding them all.
Think I should scrap it all and stat over?

If I were you I'd start over, and test to find out which one breaks things.
Then start over again clean with the others, also testing each to be sure they don't break things.
Then decide whether the ones that break your store are even necessary, or fix them.

Of course, you should be using suitable plugin versions that have been marked as intended to work with your zc version.

Thanks Doc, I most likely would have spent hours trying to fix it. I like too know if it's better fix or start fresh. I will update this to reveal what was causing the problem.
    Thank you once again,

At least this way the "spent hours trying to fix it" can be focused on just which addon is discovered to be breaking things.

I was getting the exact same results doing a totally clean new install of 1.5
I found that TAX-ID in customer account addon module seams to break the code. We may want to look at making this addon compatable with 1.5 as many of us are required to have tax id documentation available for the goverment officials in order to support the sales tax excemptions.

Good idea. Please be sure to post the updated version to the Plugins section when you've completed updating it.
