Default change Customer Orders Total in Database without deleting orders?

    Continuing from this post: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...customer-order

Dr. Byte said: "Unless you want to do a myriad of programming changes, or meddle with raw database data, you'll have to delete the order to have it excluded from the reports/stats."

I don't want to delete the order. Sometimes I have partial refunds (the customer ordered multiple items and returned only one item). I want the customer orders total to reflect the true order total minus the refund.

I am willing to change the raw database data to achieve this, but can't seem to figure out what table to change to make this work. Where does the Report "Best Customer Orders - Total" pull the information from? Which table value can I edit to get these numbers to reflect accurately?

Have you tried using Super Orders + Edit Orders modules? I'm not absolutely sure you can do it, but some bells in my head are saying it's viable... Actually, I believe only Edit Orders would suffice, but I prefer having both modules...

Thank you, I had not heard of these modules. So you recommend that I install both? And they work well together?

Well, it can be quite tricky to get them to work together, you'll need to merge the shared files very carefully. But, yes, the two can work together. If not, just try with Edit Orders - that one is really simple to install and I believe would do what you're asking for so give it a try. Just remember - try it on a test site first and once you get to the live site, backup backup backup.

I installed Edit Orders and you were right. It was very easy and it works like a charm! It does exactly what I need it to do. Seems like a mod everyone should have. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out! :)

Well, there are A LOT of mods available that IMHO should be a part of Zen Cart's core, but that's a whole different story...

Glad to hear this worked for you and hope you're enjoying your Zen Cart!

Tricky how?? Are you using an older version of these mods??

There's been no serious merging needed to install both since v3.0 of both mods was released.. (and even before that the "merging" required was minor at best) V3.0 of both mods added all kinds of bells and whistles to the code specifically so that they could work together.. Install them both, turn on the admin flag so that they link together.. Done.. Simple..V

Version 4.x for both Edit Orders and Super Orders are being finalized to be submitted to the downloads (you can download from my site until then), and the already easy install of both mods is even simpler now since it includes an auto-installer.. Edit Orders v4.x and Super Orders v4.x are not backwards compatible.. It was designed for Zen Cart v1.5, and it will NOT work on a 1.3.9 or older store..
