Default Setting up taxes for attributes of tax-exempt products

    Hi,

I have a problem which I cannot solve.

I have a product that is TAX exempt, but additional optional extras are taxable.
I cannot workout (if possible) how to set up my store to accommodate this at checkout.

    Example
(PRODUCT) Helmet @ £10 [VAT Free]
(ATTRIBUTE) Helmet Visor Attachment +£10 [VAT at 20%)

    Sale should be
    (£10 + £0tax) + (£10 + £2tax) = £22

Can or how can I set up my attributes to be taxable on a non-taxable product?

I have searched, but all I have found are threads relating to the displaying of TAX, It is not about the displaying of TAX I am asking about, it is a query on making attributes taxable on a non-taxable product. Getting the right value at checkout. As at the moment, the attribute TAX value is being determined by the products TAX status. As the product is VAT FREE, it is only returning a price of £20 because TAX is not being applied to the optional extra attribute.

Hope this makes sense, I am confused by just trying to explain it.
    R

I think that you're looking at custom-coding to get your scenario to work perfectly. An option you have that will make your VAT reporting more complex is simply to increase the price of the visor by the 20% VAT.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure it could be done but wanted a more experienced zenners advice on this in case I was missing an admin setting somewhere.
