Print on demand functionality

Is it possible, or is there an add-on, that would allow for print on demand functionality. For example, say I want to sell artwork and allow the customer to buy ONE and print ONE copy without downloading them a zip file (that they could continue to use and print again). I would appreciate any help or guidance. Thanks.

There's no such function built in, and no mod I'm aware of.

This is akin to eBook protection... How to allow an eBook to be read, without the user saving the file and handing it to all his buddies...

Adobe has special systems to cater for this, but they are offered on subscription (a fee to Adobe) and are expensive.

Other than embedding the file somehow in an exe program, which requires a passkey - or probably an associative connection with the user's computer MAC address, I don't think there is a quick or cheap solution.

You may be looking at a few thousand dollars to build such a feature - and even then it will have nothing to do with hos zencart works. It will have nothing to do with any eComm software. It will be something that is embedded in the eventual "product file" itself.

All zencart does (as with any eComm platform), is enable a product to be bought and paid for, and delivered.
