Product descriptions are being cropped

Can you help, I haven't done anything but noticed in the last 10 days some items are having their product descriptions being cut in half and a lot are getting one or two blank lines at the beginning. It is random, some similar items have the same description, and they are still intact, and I have not gone into these items anytime recently to modify them. It has to be something with the database correct? I have backups, I was going to take one item that this has happened to and go back and painstakingly unzip the backups and find the pre-cropped info then see about updating but what else will I possibly corrupt? I have 4,000 items.

Can someone suggest anything or how I can fix this?
