Cannot disable streaming download. Is there any way to do this?

Hello,

I sell downloadable WMV files in my Zencart and I configured my Zencart as below:

Enable Downloads -> true
Download by Redirect -> true
Download by streaming -> false

But when I click the "download" button from my PC, it launchs Windows Media Player automatically and starts to play the WMV files. So I have to RIGHT-CLICK mouse to save the files.

However, what I want to do is when users click the "download" button, instead of playing the file, it will pup-up a file saving dialog box to let users save the file to their PC. Can any one tell me how I can do this? Thank you very much!!

Far as I know, that's controlled by your visitors' browsers and whatever software that's installed on their computers, not you. The usual way of getting around that is to have your files compressed into .zip files.

The use of the term "streaming" here is incorrect.

As stevesh said, your problem is that customers' browsers are set up by default to open those files directly for immediate playback, overriding what Zen Cart normally tells them to do.
