    Default Enabling SSL causes Errors in Firefox and Chrome

    Hi there,

    Important Required Info:

    ZenCart v. 1.3.9a
    Store URL: vangilderpottery.com/gallerystore
    Host: iPower.com - Unix Server
    My SQL v. 5.0.91-log
    No addons installed
    Clean install (not upgrade) of ZenCart and template done by Templatetuning.com a paid installation service affiliated with TemplateMonster.com. I am not sure how they installed it.
    I have not done any customization to the install except change the logo file and the change to code described as follows. If templatetuning.com did customization, I am not aware of it.
    I have searched the forum for a solution to no avail.

    OK, now my problem.....

    I am developing a Zen Cart store. Everything was working great and I was getting ready to launch the store. In my last step I realized I needed to enable the SSL in Zencart. That is done by doing the following proceedure.

    gallerystore>Includes>configure.php file
    False was changed to True to Ennable SSL in the following code:

    / Define the webserver and path parameters
    // HTTP_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg-http://www.your_domain.com
    // HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg-https://www.your_domain.com
    define(‘HTTP_SERVER’, ‘http://vangilde.ipower.com’);
    define(‘HTTPS_SERVER’, ‘https:/vangilde.ipower.com’);

    // Use secure webserver for checkout procedure?
    define(‘ENABLE_SSL’, ‘true’);

    Let me say that when the ENABLE_SSL was set at false everything worked perfectly just no SSL.
    Changing this value to True caused the following problems.

    After adding an item to the cart and going and clicking “go to checkout” I got the following results:

    In Safari on a Mac
    “Go to Checkout” resulting URL:
    https://vangilde.ipower.com/gallerys...ain_page=login

    Safari Result: Everything is fine. Page loads perfectly.

    Firefox on a Mac
    “Go to Checkout” resulting URL:
    https://vangilde.ipower.com/vangilde...ain_page=login

    Result: Page not found error 404

    Google Chrome:
    “Go to Checkout” resulting URL
    https://vangilde.ipower.com/vangilde...ain_page=login

    Google Chrome result: Same as Firefox. Page not found error. 404

    I have not tested this in IE.

    Notice that vangilde.ipower.com is stated twice in the URL for both chrome and Firefox.
    i.e. https://vangilde.ipower.com/vangilde.ipower.com/gallerystore/etc. etc.

    This does not occur in the Safari browser. If you remove the second vangilde.ipower.com you get the checkout page without the template. If you then remove the “s” in https:// you get the correct view with template but no SSL obviously.

    Important Note: My client is also getting the same result in Safari and Firefox. I am also getting the same result on an alternate computer so I conclude that its not something in my particular computer/browsers.

    Another thing to note that I thought was odd. When templatetuning.com installed ZenCart they used vangilde.ipower.com as my domain instead of vangilderpottery.com which is my site domain. I provided them with vangilde.ipower.com as part of my ftp login info. I don't know why they used that as the URL of my site. Both lead to the same place but I am wondering if that is an issue.

    Anything else you need???

    A response would be appreciated. Under the gun, deadline blown. I have contacted my host ipower.com and they said I need to post on the Zen Cart forum. They have not been helpful.

    Thanks!!!!
    Kim

    Did you really use only one / in your https url, instead of the usual two? ie: https:/ vs https://

    And what's in your DIR_WS_CATALOG and DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG settings?
