prices are not showing after php update

I had Zencart 1.3.7.1 running on a server with php5.2. the PHP was upgraded 5.3.16 (Zend: 2.3.0)

site stopped working. the trick at the end of this thread worked fine on one of the sites, but the other one is not showing the prices any more.

not on the site, not on the admin-catalog list.
when I edit the product, the price shows up in the textbox.

not sure where to search for the solution. I can not upgrade the site to latest version right now.

please advise

Unfortunately, your only viable option is to upgrade. You are using versions that are ancient. 1.3.8a is over six years old.

Upgrade to at least 1.3.9h until you determine which of your added modifications will work with 1.5.0. And, yes, 1.3.9h will accept your database as part of the upgrade. Download the files and open the docs folder for the proper upgrade steps.

update:

problem is solved: the number of decimal digits at prices was set to 0, which was working fine till the PHP update, then after the update it started working as it supposed, and showed no prices, only the currency.

With all due respect, your problem is NOT solved until you upgrade to a non-hackable version of Zen Cart. The number of folks looking for 1.3.8a or earlier to hack "for fun" is growing daily. The number of remain sites using 1.3.8a or older is shrinking daily.

You do the statistical math. You are in a situation where it's not IF you will be hacked but WHEN.
