PLEASE HELP ASAP!

I was editing some files but now I cant get into my admin....

If you're really on v1.3.8a, you need to rename your admin right now so a hacker doesn't find your admin and break in. Then work on upgrading to a secure version.
Your question doesn't give much to go on... what file(s) were you editing? filenames.php?

I was editing some files but now I cant get into my admin....

I get that... But now I restored from backup and the problem is still there.
The backup was from a few days ago when I did have access to the backend.

I am thinking a permissions issue?? Any files that may have been corrupted?
Also the odd part is I cannot get into admin but the only files I edited were not admin
folder files.
