Well, your encouragement got me to try again, and sure enough, it works a treat! So why are we told it isn't ready?

I don't know what it is for, but here it works perfectly well with that line left in. I've only tested it a tiny bit, but so far, so good.
This is a clean install of ZC, and of course I shall want it to work on upgrades with thousands of existing orders in the database, but that fact that it works is a great encouragement.
Hi
Is this "super orders" add on is compatible with ZC 1.5.5e?

While it MAY be compatible, the differences between the core edits and the 1.5.5e code are now huge. I've been using ZC for as long as it's been out and it's got me crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. The core files really need to be conformed to the latest version. Until this is done, this plug-in is not for the faint of heart.
I might also suggest spelling out what COWOA means. I had to Google it.
It could be that in your upgrade you didn't change your database contents to UTF8 but left the code enforcing UTF8 in place. Part of the change from v1.3 to 1.5 was defaulting to UTF8, instead of latin1.
One of the symptoms of mismatched character sets is that data doesn't display properly ('wiped out', as you said).
That may or may not be *your* issue. But it's one thing that comes to mind, particularly given the upgrade versions you did.
