I highly doubt COWOA will affect the order and shipping e-mails; of course, there is probably nobody except this customer who would object to receiving those.

so true :-) The stupid thing is that she hasn't actually ordered anything, just violently objected to the "welcome aboard" message, which I wouldn't consider "spam" anyway.

Good point - it shouldn't, it would just get rid of that one initial "you now have an account" email. But the shipping email is by individual order (at least on my store) the original order goes to status of processing or pending depending on payment type. When the administrator changes it to shipping the email is sent - but the admin can also check that little box below the status that says "No email" and then the customer doesn't get notified.

true, forgot about that. I think the COWOA will be a good option for my store, and really -- this customer has already been way more of a PITA than she is worth to me.

Or just manually edit her customer account record (phpMyAdmin) and set her customers_email_format to "NONE" instead of "TEXT" or "HTML". Then she'll never get any emails.

COWOA still sends an email upon completing an order!

    I would have replied with:

You are receiving this email on [email protected] because you subscribed by registering with STORE NAME.

Therefore it is NOT spam, she opted in.

I would then immediately purge her account and never let her register/order from you.
That customer would quibble over a penny or b*tch because USPS delayed the order.
