    Default Integrating with an existing user and transaction database

    Hello;

    I'm looking at implementing Zencart on an existing website. I am hoping to find somewhat that a user will be able to use an existing logon for my site and use Zencart without having to log on again.

    I also searched for documentation on how to have Zencart update an external database when a sale is made/cancelled or charged back.

    Can Zencart do these things, if so can someone point me in the right direction for documentation on setting that up?

    Thanks.

    Logon is secured in ZenCart and while one can code this there are down sides to doing this such as PCI compliance

    Question is can you write code to do these things??
    But supplied code does not do these types of things

    I'm not concerned about PCI-Compliance as that's already on our road map. I was actually thinking of mirroring our users in ZC. Use a PHP script to register a new user and to validate a session when one logs in. Transparent to the user.

    I should've been more clear on the second question (I was half asleep when I wrote it).

    I have no problems with coding the transactional events. I can code the scripts, but what I was looking for a way to trigger an event in ZenCart to fire a PHP script and pass the information I need. I saw references to events and triggers but couldn't find anything definitive (everything presumed ZC knowledge and experience I don't have).

    Without modifications, ZenCart v1.50 is already PCI compliant

    Thanks so much! This was very helpful. I took a look at the ZenCart database and I think I can make all this work.

    I'm thinking of reversing my logic. Using the zencart user database for the rest of the site instead of trying to mirror it.

    That's probably a better/more secure way of doing it. If we can see your current site, we can advise on how easy or difficult it would be to replicate it within Zen Cart and not need to hack the db or anything else.
