Default Move 'information' sidebox to the footer

The title sums it up really, I want to move my information side box so that the links appear in the footer instead. I imagine the smoothest way is to leave the box switched on and literally move the code that embeds the box in the page. My problem is that I can't work out what i should be moving.
Am I going about this the right way? And where can I find the code?

    Thanks!

This might be a better bet:

You can create EZ pages which link to all your Information sidebox items using the Internal Link box when you create the EZ page.

EZ-Pages Footer Columns will do what you want.

Moving a sidebox to another location (center, footer, header) involves making new/modified general handler files so the sidebox code knows how to behave. Editable Centerboxes in Plugins now has this feature for the center column, which you could adapt if you really wanted a sidebox in the footer. EFC would be much easier for your current needs, though.

Alternatively, one could add code to tpl_footer.php as this is a unordered list(li)
But one will have a space issue normally if attempting to relocate all the information links to the footer

Thanks for the advice everyone... I opted to just manually add in a static ul.

I know this is an old thread but! I found if I add a <br> to the end of one of the EZ-Page names then I get two rows of links in the footer so plenty of space :)
