Default Re: How to increase phpmyadmin max rows

Schoolboy thanks for your clear clarification about this being a template monster issue.

I don't believe anything I've done has 'broken' the admin menu, as it was already like this when TM gave me the template/database installed on my domain & host control panel. I wasn't able to change the 'max rows' as the value reverted automatically back to 30 anyway.

The TM issue has been raised to me by various other people, and I'm seeking a remedy now as it was installed by them also.

Even if I get rid of the TM template and hire a zen cart developer, I will still need suitable SQL patches for modules (e.g. ty package tracker & social media) I have zen cart 1.5.1.

    cheers

You have made another fundamental error... you have chosen a TemplateMonster template, which is probably INCOMPATIBLE with your version of zencart. If menu options are not showing up in your zencart admin console, then it is probably because the MySQL patch associated with them (ie: the add-on module(s) you are trying to use) is not compatible with the new version of zencart - which has a different system for loading new menu options into admin console, compared with Zencart 1.3.x

Simplest solution is to start again - and throw the TM template into the bin.
Ok thanks for that feedback, but the TM template was advertised as: "ZenCart Compatibility: 1.3.8-1.5.x"
    http://www.templatemonster.com/zenca...tes/38348.html

Correction: I am using Zen cart v 1.5.0, and the TY package tracker install doc states: “TY package tracker version 3.1.2 - 01/28/2012, Updated to work with Zen Cart v1.5" so to me it seems that they should work together. How can I check the MySQL patch?

It has been recommended 3 times that I should juts get a new template, is there a way to uninstall the TM, and install the new template on to my website so it will work with the existing database, customization, & modules? or will I have to start from scratch?

TM have asked for a FTP login to 'correct' some issues, is this a bad idea?

    thanks

Fiddling with the database, or the way in which phpMyAdmin renders it, is dangerous. The 30 rows is a DISPLAY FEATURE - not a limitation. Tables can have HUNDREDS of rows... the 30 value is simply a limit in how many will DISPLAY on a screen.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but in my humble opinion it sounds as if you might be a bit over your head in trying to do these add-on and template installs yourself. Your posts here and the troubles you posted on the Ty Package Tracker support thread have lead me to this conclusion.

The way to uninstall your template is to back out the template files. The way to install a new template is to select a new template and upload the proper files to your store.. That said if you did not install your template to begin with (your previous posts indicate as much), then this may not be an easy task for you to take on.

As for Ty Package Tracker, the install is very straight forward. Based on your posts in the support thread it appears as if you have missed something in the install. Also, the readme files which come with Ty Package Tracker also state very clearly in at LEAST two places that the add-on is indeed v1.5 compatible. The readme and the leading post of the support thread also states very clearly how the mod works:
-There is a separate sidebox that show the customers past orders. Customer can track their orders from the sidebox or from the "My Account" page
Again, please don't take this the wrong way, you might want to give some consideration to paying for some assistance to help you get things working for you..

    Ummmm.. YES!!!!!

Personally I don't use Template Monstrosity templates (NEVER WILL), but I would NOT give these clowns my store's FTP credentials.. They do such a horrid job with their awful hacked to all h*ll templates that there's no way in H*LL I would let them monkey around in my store..
