PHP Fatal error: 1:Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_a48_0.MYI' Error 30

I'm getting the following error - yesterday my host indicated that the /tmp directory had somehow gotten switched to read-only. They indicated they correct the setup and my site was working fine again.

Today, I went in to update some orders and it seems I managed to trigger this error again.
I checked the /tmp directory permissions and they are set to 0755, so I would think it would be writable.

Has anyone else ever seen this error? It basically results in the following displaying on the cart page when browsing to a product (or while trying to update orders)
"WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again."

(I should probably point out that refreshing the page does nothing to resolve the issue )

I would check with your hosting provider again to see if something has changed again ...
