Questions about options

Hi Everyone,

Just installed the cart and looks pretty good. Have a product that is basically car parts. Took a look at the options section and it was kinda confusing so thought I would make a post here before spending a ton of time on it.

The customers product would need a drop down to select the model and the price is different for every model. As an example..

Shiny front bumper
1998-2008 Chevy Monte Carlo $192.23
2000-on Chevy Silverado $205.45
2001-2002 Ford Focus $193.00


I saw in some samples where there was adders for the product but that really wont work for us.

Is this possible with this cart?

I installed the demo data and did not see a product configured like that.

Looking quickly at your links it looks like it is possible.

I just wanted to know if it was possible to have a drop down with different prices. I have a customer that is using a shopping cart now that was built for them poorly and you have to add a base price and then an adder. So if they want to charge $125.00 for something they have to do something like set the base price to $25.00 and use an adder of $100.

We dont want to do that. Just want to add a product and have 25 or 30 options in a drop down menu that sets the price.

I have other sites using x-cart that use what they call variants to set the price. Works great but a little cumbersome.

Attributes are what you want, and you can set them to Price By Attribute when you create the product.
